Shaw's last game at the Ice Bowl

Defenceman Alex Shaw will make his last appearance for the Invicta Dynamos on Sunday.

The 35-year-old has decided to hang up his skates and will sign off with a game against the Invicta Mustangs at Gillingham Ice Bowl.

After spending six seasons with the club Shaw will now spend more time with his family and concentrate on his job in investment management.

He said: "Every season has been eventful and I’ve had a really good time.

"The players and supporters at the club are extraordinary and it has been a great experience.

"I think I need a bit of a rest but ice hockey has been in my blood since I was seven years old. That’s quite a few years and I might possibly get back into coaching at some point."

Face-off is at 5.15pm. Tickets cost £4 for adults and £3 for under-16s.

Profits from the game will be going to charity.
