PAUL SHAW: "We've got to keep the run going..."

PAUL SHAW has called on his Gillingham team-mates to maintain the drive and commitment shown in shattering Ipswich Town's six-match record at Portman Road on Saturday when they take on Sunderland tonight at Priestfield.

Shaw said: "We set our stall out against Ipswich in what was a fantastic win. Now we've got to keep the run going because if we can beat Sunderland, it will give us a third straight win in the league.

"That would set us up nicely for the forthcoming home games against Crewe on Saturday and then Wimbledon."

Striker Rod Wallace, who opened the scoring against Ipswich, misses tonight's match through a recurrence of hamstring trouble and could be replaced by Tommy Johnson.

Player-manager Andy Hessenthaler is confident centre-back Barry Ashby and wing-back John Hills, who missed the Ipswich match because of flu, will be fit to resume.
