Welling United v St Albans City

NEW-LOOK Welling start their Nationwide Conference South campaign at home to St Albans at Park View Road on Saturday.

Wings boss Adrian Pennock will hand debuts to a number of summer signings although Che Stadhart (knee) will miss out.

Defender Chris Moore has taken over the captain's armband as the home side look to get off to the perfect start.

"I've been pleased with pre-season and can't wait for the St Albans game," said Pennock.

"The fitness is fantastic, the lads have worked hard and there is a great spirit in the dressing room.

"St Albans are a good side, however, they've made signings of their own and are going to be well organised.

"It's not going to be easy but it's a big game for us and it will be nice to start with a win."

Steve Perkins is also set to make his Welling bow after signing for the club on Wednesday.
