PAUL SCALLY: has a "very clear idea" of who is going to be appointed

GILLINGHAM could have a new manager installed by this weekend, according to chairman Paul Scally.

Mr Scally confirmed on Thursday that he hoped to be in a position to announce the successor to Ronnie Jepson ahead of Saturday's game against Swindon.

The Gills chairman stated he had a "very clear idea" of who should be the next Gillingham manager, adding he had whittled down the number of candidates to three and was still waiting to see one more.

Speaking on Thursday, Mr Scally said: "I'm still interviewing and am waiting to see one more. Every day I've been working toward this and every day I've been getting closer.

"I'm hoping that I will be in a position to make an announcement either today or tomorrow."
