Premier Division

It was a day of Kent derbies in this division on Saturday and Maidstone and Margate were left licking their wounds.

The Stones were beaten 1-0 on their first ever visit to Dartford's Princes Park.

In front of a crowd of 2,013, Rob Haworth scored the only goal of the game on 62 minutes when he capitalised on a bad error by United keeper Andy Walker to put the ball into an empty net.

Maidstone almost levelled 16 minutes from time but Elliot Bradbrook's 30-yard strike cannoned back off the underside of the bar.

Margate came away from Tonbridge with nothing after a 1-0 defeat.

The winner came in the 63rd minute when Fraser Logan's ball in was flicked on by Carl Rook for Jamie Cade to score at the far post with the Gate appealing for offside.

The visitors whould have rescued a point in the latter stages but Joe Healy just failed to connect with one chance while Ryan Peters should have done better with another.

The Angels closed the gap on second-place Staines Town to just one point with the win.

In the third Kent derby in the division, Dover and Ramsgate shared the points after a stalemate at Southwood.

The Whites were reduced to 10 men six minutes before half-time when James Rogers received his second yellow card for pulling back Steffan Ball. His first caution came just minutes earlier when he failed to retreat from a free-kick.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, it was the visitors who came closest to a winner but Ollie Schulz fired over with only the keeper to beat.

Division 1 South

Ashford leap-frogged opponents Metropolitan Police after a 2-1 victory at Homelands.

Craig Wilkins put the home side ahead 10 minutes into the second half when he got on the end of Paul Jones's cross and Jones himself doubled the lead in the 66th minute when he raced onto Sean Ray's long ball forward.

The Met pulled one back on 79 minutes when the appropriately-named Steve Sergent netted from the spot after Elliot Braithwaite had been penalised for a foul.

Whitstable moved away from the foot of the table as they came from behind to take three precious points at Leatherhead.

The hosts went ahead from the penalty spot after just three minutes but Iain Pulman equalised on the half hour mark when he beat the Leatherhead keeper to the ball.

The decider came just after the hour when Tom Parker drilled home after a goalmouth scramble.

Sittingbourne remain in seventh place despite a 1-0 win over Walton & Hersham at Bourne Park.

The only goal of a game the Brickies dominated came nine minutes from time when Richard Brady crossed for Colin Richmond to head home.

Folkestone hit the woodwork three times as Godalming Town staged a smash-and-grab at Cheriton Road.

Invicta got off to a dream start when James Dryden netted after only 12 seconds after a move straight from the kick-off involving Darren Smith and Kieran Byrne.

The hosts then struck the post twice in the space of a few seconds, first through Dryden and then Michael Everitt.

Glen Stanley levelled matters with 17 minutes to go before Dryden struck the woodwork again for Invicta - this time the crossbar in the 82nd minute.

Suspicions it wasn't going to be Folkestone's day were confirmed two minutes from time when substitute Andy Ottley also hit the upright, the difference being his effort struck the inside of the post on its way into the net.

Division 1 North

Chatham are up to 16th place after a 3-2 win at Maldon Town.

A fantastic Lee Barnett strike gave the visitors a 15th minute lead but that was cancelled out 10 minutes later.

Chatham took the lead again in the 35th minute when Rob Denness bundled home from close range, however the hosts levelled again on the hour.

The winner came 15 minutes from time through assistant manager Steve Best, who turned on the edge of the box and drove low past the keeper.

Thamesmead slipped a place to 17th after a 2-0 defeat on the road at Northwood.
