Ryman League Premier Division round-up

The division's Kent derby between Maidstone and Tonbridge ended in high drama in front of 574 spectators at Bourne Park on Saturday.

A placid affair hampered by the terrible weather conditions looked to be heading for a stalemate as the last of the three scheduled added minutes ticked past - but that was before a questionable free-kick was given against United's Elliot Bradbrook and Jamie Cade scrambled a winner for the visitors from the resulting set piece. It was the Angels' only shot on target.

There was only just about enough time left for the home side to restart - and to have Jay Saunders dismissed for dissent. Stones joint manager Lloyd Hume was also asked to leave the technical area by the referee but no further action will be taken.

Up until then the game had passed by with little incident, although the visitors were grateful to keeper Lee Worgan who made several fine saves.

Meanwhile, Dover came out on top in a pulsating battle between the division's top two as they came from behind to win 3-2 against Ashford Town (Middlesex) at Crabble.

The first three goals came in a frantic opening 11 minutes.

First, Matt Fish's error let in Paul Johnson to put the visitors ahead inside a minute, then Frannie Collin's far post header drew Whites level two minutes later before more poor defending allowed Johnson to restore Ashford's advantage.

Dover equalised for a second time midway through the first half when Lee Browning hammered home - and the winner came on 68 minutes as James Rogers drilled home after his initial effort had been blocked.

Ramsgate recorded only their second win of the campaign as they came away from Wealdstone with all three points.

The Rams dominated the game but had to wait until two minutes from time for Aaron Firth to net the winner that lifted Jim Ward's side up to 15th in the table.

Steve Butterworth's deflected strike on 28 minutes wasn't enough for Dartford, who conceded two late goals as joint-leaders Staines stormed back after the break.

And Margate continue to struggle after being beaten 2-0 at home by AFC Hornchurch.
