MARGATE made a winning start to their Ryman League Premier Division season on an emotional afternoon at Hartsdown Park.

After three years away from the ground Leon Braithwaite had the honour of scoring a 68th minute winner in front of a crowd of 1,280.

It wasn't such a good afternoon for Folkestone Invicta who were beaten 4-1 at high profile AFC Wimbledon.

Paul Jones scored Invicta's consolation on the stroke of half-time.

Bromley were denied all three points when Nic McDonnell's 36th minute effort was cancelled out by a Jamie Morrelly equaliser six minutes into stoppage time at Hayes Lane.
