Ashford are thwarted during their Division 1 South game against Cray Wanderers

Cray Wanderers boosted their Ryman League Division 1 south promotion bid with a 2-0 win at rivals Ashford on Saturday.

Leigh Bremner put the visitors ahead after eight minutes and Mark Willy's header made it 2-0 after 18 minutes to wrap the points up.

Sittingbourne continued their amazing away record by winning 1-0 at Worthing, who started the day at the top of the table.

It was Gary Abbott's side's 10th away win of the season in 15 games and ended the hosts' 21-match unbeaten run.

The only goal of the game came after 64 mintues when Mark DeBolla's free-kick was headed in by Tom Bradbrook.

Whitstable saw their good run of form ended after they went down 3-0 at home to Met Police.

Dave Cory's third-minute disallowed goal was as good as it got for the Oystermen - Scott Forrester, James Greenaway and a Clint Gooding own goal sealing their fate.

A last-minute goal left Folkestone empty-handed as they went down 2-1 at home to Leatherhead.

Tom Hutchings scored twice for the visitors, having also given them a first-half lead. Michael Everitt equalised for Folkestone before half-time.

Chatham returned to winning ways with a 2-0 home success over Witham Town in Division 1 North.

Striker Lee Barnett scored twice in as many second-half minutes to give Steve Binks' side the three points.

Thamesmead gained a creditable point from a 2-2 draw at home to Waltham Abbey. Dean Holness put the Mead ahead midway through the first half before David Ayres' long-range effort levelled the scores.

Holness scored again to put Thamesmead 2-1 ahead in the second half but Ayres' second of the game made it 2-2. Thamesmead wasted a golden chance with 10 minutes left when Rikki Cable's penalty was saved by keeper Richard Hayward
