Ryman League Division 1 preview

DOVER Athletic travel to Tooting & Mitcham United knowing that a win could see them go top of Ryman League Division 1.

Current leaders Tonbridge Angels could only manage a draw in midweek and they are in FA Cup action this weekend.

Whites manager Clive Walker is well aware that Tooting is the kind of tricky away fixture his side need to win if they are to claim the league title and said: "There’s a long way to go. We’ve got 37 games left. All we can do is keep winning our games.

"It’s always nice to have a good run in the FA Cup but going out of it wasn’t the worst thing that could have happened. It stops you getting so many injuries and suspensions."

Walker expects to be without midfielder Anthony Hogg and back-up striker Chris Wright at Tooting, both with ankle injuries. Fortunately the squad is suspension free.

New signing Carl Rook is set to start in place of Tommy Tyne, whose hamstring injury will sideline him for a further two to four weeks.

Meanwhile, Ashford Town will be hoping to continue their recent revival when they travel to Bashley.
