Ryman League Division 1 preview

DOVER Athletic have received a boost ahead of their Ryman League Division 1 home match against Newport IoW on Saturday with the signing of striker Carl Rook from Hastings United.

Whites reacted to the news that Tommy Tyne would be out for at least a month with a hamstring injury, by snapping up the forward, who has scored 34 goals in the past two seasons.

Manager Clive Walker has insisted his side will not panic after suffering their first defeat of the season against Chelmsford City in the FA Cup.

Walker said: "We are not going to panic because of one defeat. I have been looking at bringing in one or two more in, but with Tommy possibly out for a while it's just made it more of a priority."

Meanwhile, Tonbridge Angels travel to Lymington & New Milton looking to protect their unbeaten start to the campaign.

Ramsgate will also want to build on a promising start to the season when they host Bashley, while Cray Wanderers will be looking to end a run of three straight defeats when they travel to Croydon Athletic.

Ashford Town, who recorded an impressive 3-3 draw at high-flying Horsham on Tuesday, entertain Tooting & Mitcham Town.
