GOALKEEPER Simon Royce has won the Kent Messenger player of the month award for the second time this season.

The 36-year-old beat top scorer Chris Dickson to take the award for November and he was delighted with the recognition from the fans.

“It’s nice to know that the fans appreciate what I’ve been doing,” he said. “Obviously I’d like it if I wasn’t so busy in games, as it shows perhaps we’ve been put under a little too much pressure, but it’s nice that I’m getting the recognition.

“I won man of the match in one of Mark Stimson’s first couple of games, he said afterwards that he wants his centre forward to go and get man of the match, not his goalkeeper.”
