Royce agrees new deal with Gills

GILLINGHAM goalkeeper Simon Royce has agreed to extend his contract at the club by another year.

The 36-year-old will sign the contract, which was finalised before the weekend, on Monday to keep him at Gillingham until the summer of 2009.

Royce joined the Gills in the summer, having spent a brief spell on loan the previous season, and he’s become a popular figure in goal – earning the KM Player of the Month award for the fourth time this month.

Manager Mark Stimson said: “We’re over the moon to sort it out and he’s earned it.”
