THE Kent County Football Association are to run two female only referee courses in September.

The minimum age to attend is 14 and if you are fit, you are never too old.

For further details contact Lee Suter at the KCFA on 01634 812032.

The recruiting campaign coincides with the emergence of Northfleet’s Holly Wilde as both physiotherapist and referee.

Progress made by the 20-year-old University of Kent second year student was acknowledged by her involvement in the recent women’s international at Gillingham when she was encouraged by team manager Hope Powell.

Wilde first became involved in football when she volunteered to train Northfleet Eagles Under-10s.

She was urged to take up refereeing and qualified in September last year and will take charge of 11-a-side games next season.

KCFA child protection officer and volunteer co-ordinator Val Hajialexandrou said: "Holly is a confident young lady and this has been reflected in her man management skills as a referee.

"She receives lots of positive remarks and has been marked highly."
