Ramsgate have been deducted four points by the Ryman League after fielding more than the maximum of players on short-term loan for three games this season.

The Rams were charged by the league for naming three players on short-term loans in the games against Margate, Dartford and Tonbridge.

Under rule 6.4.6, they have played an illegible player as they exceeded the maximum of two permitted.

However, Ramsgate argued that the rule states that short-term loans that become permanent before their expiry date will not count against a club's quota of players. Former Welling keeper Jamie Turner - who originally joined the club on loan in December - falls into that category having now signed permanently for Ramsgate.

Ramsgate's response to the charge was considered and dismissed by the Ryman League with the club docked four points and fined.

Ramsgate are now considering whether to appeal to the Football Association.
