Progress made in Gills stadium quest

SCALLY: "It's a bit like a ladder with the new stadium"

GILLINGHAM will take a step closer to building a new stadium complex with the imminent conclusion of a feasibility study.

Chairman Paul Scally expects to receive the findings of the survey shortly after three sites were considered as possible venues for the club's new home.

The club are continuing their long search for a site to build a purpose-built arena that will include facilities designed to bring in revenue outside of football.

Mr Scally said: "It's a bit like a ladder with the new stadium, you have to keep going up the rungs and when you get to the top you get yourself a new stadium."

Two of the proposed venues are in the Medway Towns, while the other is thought to be in the Gravesham area.
