PAUL SCALLY: Expected to name new boss on Thursday

GILLINGHAM have extended the deadline for renewing season tickets ahead of what the club describes as "an exciting announcement" by chairman Paul Scally.

The original deadline was Monday, but that has been extended to May 31.

A club spokesman said: "The club would again like to say a big thank you to all those supporters who have already demonstrated their support by renewing their season tickets and encourage all those considering renewing to do so."

After the May 31 deadline, all unsold seats will be released to new customers or existing season ticket holders who want to change their location in the stadium.

Mr Scally is expected to name Stan Ternent's replacement before the end of the week.

A leading candidate is thought to be former Hartlepool manager Neale Cooper. Assistant boss Ronnie Jepson is also thought to be in the frame.
