Mark Stimson took over the reigns as Gillingham manager at the start of November and there have been some highs and lows during the month.

Draws against Swansea and Doncaster were followed by an early exit from the FA Cup at the hands of League 2 side Barnet.

Gillingham are still in the Johnstone’s Paint trophy and on Saturday beat Hartlepool 2-1 at Priestfield.

October’s Kent Messenger player of the month was awarded to top-scorer Chris Dickson and he followed Mark Bentley (August) and Simon Royce (September) in scooping the award.

Dickson said: “The main thing for me is to entertain. That is what keeps them coming back in and I thank the supporters for voting for me.”
