Defender Chris Moore has become the latest Welling player to commit himself for the new campaign.

Moore, last season's player of the year at Park View Road, was a key figure in the fight against relegation in Blue Square South.

He joins keeper Jamie Turner and winger Ellis Green as the players who have already agreed to stay from last season's squad.

Ford, who has already snapped up midfielder Rob Quinn and full-back Craig Braham-Barrett in the close season, confirmed that negotiations are continuing with Richard Carpenter and Robbie Ryan.

The Wings boss also revealed that Green turned down the attentions of Blue Square South rivals Braintree for the second time to stay at Park View Road.

Green rejected a move to the Essex outfit just before the transfer deadline in March and has now turned them down again in favour of staying with Welling.

Ford added: "There was interest for him from other clubs as well, not just Braintree.

"He showed faith with us last season and can see that we are trying to move in the right direction.

"If he thought it was going to be like it was last year then I'm sure he would not have agreed to stay."
