Lancashire v Kent

RAIN delayed the start of Lent's LV Championship match against Lancashire at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Play eventually began at 2.45pm with the loss of 49 overs in the day due to an inch of overnight rain in the Trafford Park area.

Kent welcomed back Matt Walker after a thumb injury, but the hosts were without Mark Chilton, who has a virus, and James Anderson, who is on stand-by for England for the Test match in Durham.

The seam bowler may return to take some part in this game, however, if released by England coach Peter Moores.
