Huddersfield v Welling United

WELLING manager Adrian Pennock will tell his players to grab their moment in the spotlight on Sunday.

The Wings travel to League 1 Huddersfield in the first round of the FA Cup, dreaming of a giant-killing act.

Pennock said: "Part of my team talk will be that one of our players can be on Match of the Day or the back page of a national paper. What I want is for them to all be heroes. We’ve an opportunity to do something special and I believe it can happen.

"There’s no pressure on our players, they don’t have to prove anything to me – they did that by winning at Maidenhead on Saturday. The tables are turned now, the pressure is on Huddersfield."

Meanwhile, Welling general manager Graham Hobbins has indicated that extra funds could be made available to Pennock following the club’s cup exploits.

The Wings have pocketed £18,750 in prize money so far and Mr Hobbins said: "If Adrian wants to bring an extra body in then we might be able to but we have to be careful that we don’t overstretch ourselves. We haven’t banked as much as people think from the earlier rounds."
