Weymouth 0 Welling 3

WELLING picked up their first win under the leadership of Adrian Pennock with an impressive victory at Weymouth on Saturday.

A first-half goal from Matt Lovell was followed by a Chris Moore effort early in the second half and a late Paul Booth penalty.

It was no more than the Wings deserved for an accomplished display, full of energy and determination.

The majority of the 1,023 crowd was silenced when Welling took a 16th minute lead as Lovell headed in Danny Slatter's right-wing cross.

Moore then sent a powerful header beyond home keeper Jason Matthews to make it 2-0.

Welling's dominance was confirmed in the final minutes when Tim Hambley was fouled in the box and Booth struck a confident penalty high into the net.
