Yeading v Welling United

WELLING boss Adrian Pennock has warned his team not to rely on the goals of Danny Kedwell ahead of Saturday's Nationwide Conference South trip to Yeading.

The Wings’ leading scorer came off the bench to claim the winner against Weston-super-Mare. It was Kedwell’s 17th goal of the campaign but Pennock wants more goals from other areas.

He said: "The goals have got to come from everywhere. It’s not just the forwards, it’s all over, even someone like Chris Moore should have double figures by now.

"Kedwell has been doing well but I don’t want to put too much pressure on the other players. We worked with Che Stadhart and James Pinnock getting across the near post from crosses in training and I thought Che was unlucky not to score against Weston."

Pennock’s squad tinkering continued with the signing of midfielder Keith Rowland from Ryman League Redbridge while rookie Mark Green has joined Eastbourne Borough on a one-month loan deal.

Welling are aiming to avenge the defeat to Saturday's opponents in August – the club's only reverse on home soil this season.

Pennock said: "It will be a difficult place to go, Yeading are an attacking team so we’ll need to defend well."

Matt Carruthers could make his long-awaited return from injury but Adrian Clarke is still ruled out.

Meanwhile, Welling’s home game against Bognor has been re-arranged for Tuesday February 7, with the Wings travelling to Woking in the FA Trophy three days earlier.
