KEVIN PARRISH: "If we get a win home or away then fair play to the boys”

INVICTA Dynamos are hoping for “more of the same” against higher-league opposition this weekend, after a great 2-2 draw with Slough Jets in the Premier Cup.

Wightlink Raiders provide the next test for Kevin Parrish’s side but he is confident his squad has the skill and passion to cause problems.

The two sides meet twice this weekend, away on the Isle of Wight on Saturday and at Gillingham Ice Bowl on Sunday.

Parish said: “I was happy with the result against Slough and will be looking for more of the same against the Raiders, although they will prove tougher.

“Not many teams come away with a result from their small ice, so even losing by the odd goal is a good result but if we get a win home or away then fair play to the boys.”

Stuart Lowe (back) and Gary Dodds (arm) are doubts so Parrish will bring in youngster James Fraser for his second senior game.

Last weekend’s game started competitvely with a scuffle at 4:10 resulting in both sides getting a two-minute minor - Karl Lennon and Nicky Chinn for roughing and high-sticks respectively.

After more physical stuff, both sides were handed penalties after a scrap broke out on the ice at 16:45.

But just under a minute into the Mos powerplay, a poor pass from Mike Allaby fell to Zoran Kosic, who finished shorthanded at 17:51.

After the Jets’ Graham Bellamy was binned for holding early in the final period, Andy Martin had no option but to take his own holding penalty at 46:09 as he thwarted a breakaway.

The Mos’ breakthrough finally came during this four-on-four action with man-of-the-match Andy Smith finishing well.

The Jets quickly regained the lead through Matt Foord but the home side showed fantastic spirit. Peter Korff sent the crowd wild with the second equalising goal at 53:20.
