Only a win will do for Gate

Havant & Waterlooville v Margate

MARGATE head for Hampshire on Saturday, determined to cling onto their Nationwide South status, and avoid relegation for the second successive season.

They travel to Havant and Waterlooville knowing they must win to keep their hopes alive, and hope the results of fellow-strugglers Maidenhead and Newport go their way.

Assistant Manager Kevin Raine said: "The boys were in good spirits at training on Wednesday night, and will be up for it on Saturday.

"Maidenhead and Newport play the top two, Grays and Cambridge City, and then play each other on the final day of the season, with only three points at stake then."

Margate will pick from the same squad that drew 1-1 at Eastbourne Borough on Saturday.

They won 5-1, their biggest win of the season, when the two teams met at Ashford in November, but Havant's recent home form is good with six wins in a row. Former Wimbledon and Bolton striker Dean Holdsworth is their top scorer with 22 goals.
