Nutter: We're still buzzing despite humiliation

Nutter: "...it’s not like we're struggling"

Aldershot v Gillingham

John Nutter is hoping last weekend’s disappointment will help spur the Gillingham to victory at Aldershot.

Nutter admitted to feeling lower than ever on the football pitch after Saturday’s defeat at Shrewsbury but is determined to make it work in their favour this time round.

He said: "It’s not nice but the only thing you can take out of it is to use it as a positive to gee you up for the next game and that’s what we’ll hopefully do on Saturday.

"We’ve won three games and we’re still eighth in the league, it’s not like we’re struggling. We’re still buzzing and can’t wait to play on Saturday, put it right and get back on our winning ways.

"We very much see it as a blip - but we’ve got to prove that, obviously, but that’s how we see it. You don’t completely forget about it because if you forget about it you won’t learn from it."
