Nixon to rejoin Leicestershire?

PAUL NIXON: Considering options

WICKETKEEPER Paul Nixon is considering two offers to continue his county cricket career elsewhere after his surprise release by Kent at the end of the season.

The England A player has spoken with James Whitaker at his former club Leicestershire and with the ambitious officials from Hampshire.

Nixon, who was free after three seasons at St Lawrence, is mulling over one firm offer and another verbal proposal before deciding which option offers the best opportunity of realising his dream of playing Test cricket.

Last week Leicestershire released wicketkeeper Neil Burns and his understudy Stephen Adshead, seemingly paving the way for Nixon's return.

However, Hampshire are set to hold talks with their South African wicketkeeper Nick Pothas and are awaiting test results from Adrian Ames to gauge the extent of his injured knee.
