Chief executive David Davis has reiterated Ebbsfleet secretary Roly Edwards' claim that MyFootballClub membership renewals will be critical for the future success of the club.

More than 28,000 members each paid £35 to own an equal share in the club with the takeover formally ratified at an extraordinary general meeting in February.

Speaking in his programme notes ahead of the game against Torquay, Mr Edwards said that if current members do not renew then it could prove critical.

Memberships are up for renewal in the new year and Mr Davis confirmed: "Everything is dependent on how many renewals we get from MyFootballClub. Most clubs have a benefactor who pours money into a club, as the directors did previously.

"Our main benefactor is MyFootballClub Ltd. It's the most critical thing to the club."

Meanwhile, commercial executive Greg Bettles has left the club. He has been replaced by Barry Wickenden, who has taken on the role of promotions and marketing manager.

Mr Davis added: "There have been some significant changes with the profile being raised so high. We have international membership and realised that we needed a different role to the one we had."
