Grays 3 Ebbsfleet 1

Ebbsfleet's miserable run in Blue Square Premier continued on New Year's Day with a second holiday defeat to lowly Grays.

The Fleet have now lost their last five league games and sit just four points above the relegation zone.

On-loan Gills midfielder Stuart Thurgood puts Grays ahead on the half-hour and they quickly added a second in the second half when Barry Cogan's pass set up Ishmael Welsh to score.

Ebbsfleet substitute Kezie Ibe put his side back into the contest with a close-range effort 17 minutes from time but Jamie Stuart's header sealed the points for the hosts with 10 minutes left.

The Fleet are at home to Wrexham on Saturday.
