Midweek Ryman League Round-Up

Promotion-chasers Tonbridge and Staines shared a 2-2 draw at Wheatsheaf Park on Tuesday night.

The Angels fell two goals behind before Tonbridge returned to Kent with a point following late goals from Leon Legge and Scott Gooding.

A 25-yard shot from Gareth Risbridger deflected off Lee Minshull and into the net to give the home side the lead after six minutes.

They doubled their advantage when Gareth Risbridger drove a 30-yard shot into the top corner of the net after 77 minutes.

But Tommy Warrilow's side were not to be denied and pulled a goal back when Minshull's shot was turned in by Legge with nine minutes left.

They got a deserved equaliser in stoppage time when Gooding scrambled the ball home.

Cray consolidated their lead at the top of the Ryman League Division 1 South table with a 1-0 home win over Chipstead on Tuesday night.

The only goal of the game came after 52 minutes. Jamie Wood's corner from the right was met by Mark Willy who rose unchallenged to power the ball into the net.

Sittingbourne's 2-2 draw against Leatherhead was overshadowed by a nasty looking injury to Richard Brady.

The club's leading scorer crashed through a pitchside advertising hoarding during the game and suffered severe cuts to his face. He was taken to Medway Hospital by ambulance.

Earlier, Brady had put his side in front after two minutes. However, the visitors equalised midway through the half, before taking the lead three minutes after the break.

Hicham Akhazzan earned Bourne a point soon after when he bundled home a rebound off the Leatherhead keeper.
