Gillingham have made midfielder Josh Pritchard their latest summer signing.

The 21-year-old joins the Gills on a two-year deal following his release by Fulham.

“I am excited to be working with the manager here,” said the Mancunian, following his arrival at Priestfield.

“Peter Taylor has got a lot of experience at lots of different clubs and I know he will be helping me to become a better player, so I am excited.”

Pritchard was on the books of Manchester United for the best part of a decade as a youngster before joining Fulham on their youth programme.

But he had to move abroad to get first team football, playing for Norwegian side Tromso for a year and Finnish side FC Honka on loan for a couple of months.

He played in the Europa League during his time at Tromso, facing teams including Besiktas and Tottenham. He has made four Welsh under-21 appearances.

Gills boss Peter Taylor is happy to have added another quality addition to the squad.

“He comes highly recommended from people that I have spoken to,” Taylor said.

“He is a very confident and knowledgeable footballer. He is a very good passer and can play more defensively as well. He is like a holding midfielder and can play in a number of other positions as well.”
