McDonald and Crofts strike for Gills

GOAL: Andrew Crofts
GOAL: Andrew Crofts

Gillingham 2 Blackpool 1

GILLINGHAM are in front and have dominated the first half against Blackpool at Priestfield this afternoon.

A positive start by the Gills was rewarded after nine minutes when the front two of Dean McDonald and Gary Mulligan constructed a good move that ended with McDonald heading in from close range.

However, Blackpool were level within three minutes when poor defending allowed Ben Burgess to score after Andrew Morrell's initial effort had come back off the crossbar.

But the home side were back in front 10 minutes before the break when Andrew Crofts headed Nicky Southall's corner into the net from inside the six yard box.
