Gills striker Mark McCammon will take a big step towards recovery on Wednesday when he appears for the reserves.

McCammon has missed the last two months of the season after aggravating his hamstring in the Gills’ home FA Cup match with Stockport in November.

He began training again last week and manager Mark Stimson will include him in the reserve game at Aldershot.

“Fingers crossed and touch wood he can get through that and he can get into the first team squad,” said Stimson.

“We haven’t seen enough of him this year and if he could be half as good as the boy (Geoff) Horsfield was for Lincoln then it would be like a new signing.”

Also hoping to make an appearance will be winger Albert Jarrett who has been out for the last few weeks with an ankle injury.
