Kent to host world's best female snooker stars

THE 2005 British Ladies Open snooker tournament takes place this weekend with the world's top players descending on the county.

The Savoy Snooker Club in Snodland hosts the even which sees three Kent players competing for the title.

Jenny Poulter will be playing on home turf, while Orpington’s June Banks and Rochester’s Katie Henrick will also challenge for honours.

Play starts at 11am on Saturday with the semi-finals and finals taking place on Sunday. Spectators are welcome.
