A POOL player from the county has won the men's Eight-Ball Pool World Masters final.

Ian Kettel, who is from Lordswood and a member of Chatham Pool & Snooker Club, beat former Home Internationals winner Steve Munro 10-8 to secure the championship in Blackpool.

The 37-year-old said: "I went 2-0 up but he (Munro) came back to take a 3-2 lead. I was then chasing him from one frame behind but I kept drawing level until we got to 8-8.

"I am very happy to have won it."
