YOUNG runners from Kent are among 80 competitors named by UK Athletics to join its world class development programme.

Endurance runners Charlotte Dale, 21, of Invicta East Kent, Lisa Dobriskey, 21, of Ashford AC, Steven Fennell, 19, of Tonbridge, and Jermaine Mays, 22, of Kent AC, are all on the Lottery-funded scheme aimed at supporting the careers of athletes with top-class potential.

They are joined by Blackheath and Bromley sprinters Dwayne Grant, 23 and 19-year-old Montell Douglas.
