Jepson to tinker with defence

JEPSON: "I've got to shore it up somehow"

Gillingham v Bradford City

GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson is ready to shake the team up again on Saturday in a bid to tighten up the defence.

The Gills welcome Bradford City to Priestfield and Jepson may be willing to forgo his attacking options to balance a side that have conceded 55 goals in 31 League 1 matches.

He said: "I’ve got to shore it up somehow. I may have to tweak one or two things and try to get us a more solid base.

"Stopping crosses, winning the majority of second balls and getting their head and foot on the ball when it comes into the box – that’s basic defending which they haven’t been doing."
