Gillingham 3 Port Vale 2

GILLINGHAM boss Ronnie Jepson admitted that he had to rip into his players despite the 3-2 home win over Port Vale.

The victory was the club's third in a row in League 1, but Jepson was frustrated after seeing his side lose the initiative at the end of the game and win by just a one-goal margin.

Jepson said: "I was disappointed that once we got the third goal we stopped passing the ball. We took our foot off the pedal.

"I'm straight up front and honest with my boys and I had a go at them in the changing room. We started showboating."
