GILLINGHAM number two Ronnie Jepson says he is delighted to still be at the club after being handed a new two-year deal by chairman Paul Scally.

Jepson arrived at Priestfield with former boss Stan Ternent in December and there was speculation that he would also leave the club.

But Jepson, who was a candidate to take over as manager, insists he is happy to work as Neale Cooper's assistant.

He said: "I’m delighted to still be at Gillingham. I’ve had a good feeling about the club since I first came here.

"But I wasn’t going to stay just for the sake of it. When I spoke to Neale I could see he was very similar to me in the way he thinks. I will give him 110 per cent."
