Huddersfield Town 4 - 1 Welling United

BRAVE Welling's FA Cup campaign came to an end at League 1 high-flyers Huddersfield Town on Sunday.

Adrian Pennock's team held out for 27 minutes before Huddersfield took the lead when a right-wing corner was headed home by Andy Booth.

Three minutes later Leon Solomon cleared off the line from Booth and Wings keeper Jamie Turner made two fine saves.

Welling started the second half brightly but their hopes faded when Matt Lee gave away a penalty which Danny Schofield coolly converted.

It was 3-0 on 69 minutes when Booth was allowed to continue despite looking offside and fired past Turner from close range.

Welling's top scorer Danny Kedwell nearly pulled on back but his right-foot volley went over before Huddersfield's Andy Holdsworth played a neat one-two and shot low beyond Turner to make it 4-0 with nine minutes left.

But Welling and their 304 travelling supporters weren't to be denied their moment of glory when, in the 83rd minute, Jamie Day's precise free-kick was headed in by skipper Chris Moore.
