Hessenthaler: Spending spree is over

GILLINGHAM'S player-manager Andy Hessenthaler has given a strong hint that he is unlikely to dip into the transfer market again this season.

Hessenthaler said: "Nothing is happening on the player front at the moment. The budget is fairly tight after already signing Rod Wallace and Tommy Johnson."

He added: “There isn't too much more we can do because of the finances, and anyway the chairman is away for a two-week family holiday.”
