BLACKHEATH & BROMLEY athletes produced a number of impressive performances at the Norwich Union World Championship Trials and UK Championships in Sheffield, despite having only a handful of competitors.

Sandra Alaneme produced the best performance of the day in the triple jump with a personal best 12.86m to finish fourth in the overall standings.

Taiwo Sodeyi also impressed, producing times of 8.01sec and 8.03 to reach the 60m hurdles B final. Jonathan Harbour produced a season’s best 6.82 in the 60m to reach the semis, while in the women’s event Lorraine Ugen and Vickie Cole timed 7.87 and 7.92 in the heats.
