GILINGHAM'S new assistant manager John Gorman has urged supporters to get behind the team for the next two home games.

Gills have a lot of young players involved in the squad for the matches against Wolves on Saturday and Watford on Tuesday and Gorman wants the Priestfield faithful to give them every encouragement.

He said: “I’ve not been at the club long but in that time, the Gillingham fans at away games have been fantastic. They just need to be a bit more patient at home and understand that we have a lot of young players in the team.

“If fans want to shout at someone, they should shout at me because I’m not on the pitch. It doesn’t help when they get on the players’ backs. I want them to really get behind us for the next two games and they might get a pleasant surprise by how we respond."
