Gooden set to leave Priestfield?

GILLINGHAM midfielder Ty Gooden is set to join the Priestfield exodus after entering into negotiations for the remainder of his contract to be paid up.

The injury-prone player, whose last Gillingham appearance was against Manchester City on April 13 last year, could leave within days providing he can agree a severance deal with chairman Paul Scally.

Mark Patterson and Adrian Pennock have already left the club having been forced to quit full-time football through persistent injury problems.

Gooden, 30, is best remembered for his spectacular goal against Arsenal in last season’s FA Cup, fifth round, tie at Highbury.
