Gillingham captain Barry Fuller is in hospital suffering from pneumonia.

The 24-year-old was admitted to hospital on Tuesday and the club are waiting on reports to find out the severity of the illness.

Fuller was recently banned for three games following a sending off against Brentford and he was due to make his comeback this weekend at Morecambe.

Manager Mark Stimson said: "He hasn't had a good start to 2009. We wish him all the best and we'll miss him. Stuart Lewis has done well but we miss his banter around the place.

"He'll get better and he'll come back to us and hopefully by then we'll be up to where he wants to be and he can take the team forward.

"By the end of the week, weekend we should have some news about a period of time but I would have thought a minimum two to four weeks out."
