Gillingham 0 Queens Park Rangers 1

GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson was left asking questions of his strikeforce after drawing a blank in the pre-season friendly defeat to QPR on Saturday.

A bizarre goal from substitute Ray Jones, who was the beneficiary when a free-kick hit him and ricocheted into the net, settled the match, but the Gills lack of cutting edge will have worried Jepson.

He said: "There was a little bit of rust during the first half but you would expect that at this stage of the season.

"In the second half we got the ball down and put some quality balls into their box. How we didn't get on the end of them, I don't know.

"We need to strengthen and there are things we need to work on at the training ground."

Gillingham: Homoet, Clohessy, Johnson (Stone 88), Cox (Sancho 59), Jackman, Easton (Pouton 73), Bentley (Crofts 59), Flynn (Karim 73), Jarvis (Collin 83), McDonald (Ndumbu-Nsungu h-t), Mulligan.
Subs Not Used: Beckwith.
