IAN COX: Has agreed a fresh one-year contract

GILLS defender Ian Cox and midfielder Mark Saunders have both signed new deals with the club.

But skipper Paul Smith is still contemplating the offer of a new contract.

It means just Smith and Barry Ashby are still out of contract from last season’s squad.

Cox has penned a one-year deal that will continue his partnership with Gills assistant manager Ronnie Jepson, whom he worked under at Burnley.

Saunders has agreed a six-month contract with the club after missing most of last season through injury.
