Gills chase ex-Ipswich star

GILLINGHAM have been linked with Ipswich defender Wayne Brown who been given a free transfer by the club.

According to reports in East Anglia, Gills manager Andy Hessenthaler has joined the race to sign the 25-year-old with Watford and Wimbledon also in the hunt.

Brown has had early talks with Watford and his agent has spoken to with Hessenthaler.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Gillingham striker Rod Wallace, who has been suffering with a hamstring injury, could be in the frame for Saturday’s game against Stoke.
