Gills boss warns underachievers

JEPSON: "If they're good enough, they'll stay here"

RONNIE JEPSON has called on his players to eradicate their "crazy" mistakes – or face losing their places in the side.

Gillingham have made several defensive blunders in each of the recent losses at Bristol City, Port Vale and Yeovil and Jepson said if the errors continue he wouldn’t think twice about changing his personnel in the January transfer window.

He said: "When you concede goals like we do, it’s crazy. It’s not tactical, it’s about being switched on in the right areas, knowing your job and doing it. We address these things – we don’t turn a blind eye to them.

"The lads live and die by that as footballers and if they’re good enough to do that, they’ll stay here. But if they’re not, when I get the opportunity, I’ll bring other players in."
