Gills boss refusing to panic

Stimson says there won't be wholesale changes

Aldershot v Gillingham

Gillingham boss Mark Stimson is set to make changes for his side’s trip to Aldershot in League 2 on Saturday - but not too many.

Stimson was left cursing his side’s poor defending following their 7-0 away defeat to Shrewsbury on Saturday.

But he is refusing to hit the panic button. "If it had been three heavy defeats on the bounce then you obviously would have to do something – but it was one," he said.

"We've spoken about it and there will possibly be one or two changes but not wholesale changes."

Midfielder Andrew Crofts is likely to come into the side in place of Adam Miller.

Stimson has called on him to produce a captain’s performance and added: "Andrew has got a good chance.

"He went away with Wales and while he was away the team had their biggest win of the season. It would have been wrong to change it. Andrew came on and did okay.

"If he’s selected this weekend I hope he gives what I call a captain's performance and leads by example."
