Crewe Alexandra v Gillingham

GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson has challenged his players to step up a gear if they want a good result from Saturday's clash with Crewe.

Gills returned to winning ways following a couple of disappointing results with a 2-1 victory over Cheltenham at Priestfield last week, but Jepson said a repeat performance would not be enough at Gresty Road.

He said: "The Cheltenham game was an important three points, as they all are, but we weren’t at our best by any stretch.

"Crewe have got a good side. If we play at the tempo we played at last Saturday, we won’t get anything from them."
